There is no better way to kick off your #Fridaythe13th than to indulge in some spirits, so why not make it a #VengefulSpiritIPA from one of San Diego’s biggest celebrities in the beer world, Stone Brewing… you may have heard about them. What you may not know is that Stone likes to experiment with different themes throughout the year with their recipes and, this year, they have gone tropical…and absurdly delicious! It says it has an ABV of 7.3% but it doesn’t drink like your typical Stone IPA. It is flavored with mandarin oranges and pineapple, giving it a juicy character to the beer.
The tiki gargoyle called out to me and drew me nearer, its whispers seemed to be coming from every direction in this creepily over-lit fluorescent hallway. The further I tried to get, the whispers seemed to get louder and louder until they reached my breaking point… and there I stood, possessed.
Overcome with terror and fearful of taking another step in the wrong direction, I slowly turned my head up and I was met by these malevolent, sunken eyes that pierced me straight to my core. I couldn’t move if my life depended on it. I was more frozen than the combination of all the entrees in the freezers down aisle 7. My body was reanimated and, against my will and better judgement, my arm flailed wildly to open the door and grab a six-pack. Whew! That was close!
I risked my life to tell you this tale but, don’t worry. I sealed that demon in my belly. It was yummy. The end.
If you can’t already tell, I LOVE this time of year! Spooky stories are fascinating and I thought I would give it a shot and share one with you all! Just the fact that we have a Friday the 13th in October this year got me excited, so I hope you are enjoying your night. Beware the whispers… or, you know, just buy some beer.
