Celebrate Mexican Independence at Machete Beer House

Birthdays are always a cause for celebration and Mexicans like celebrating the birth of their nation with a bang!…quite literally in some places too. A two-day festival commemorating their fight for independence begins at 11pm on September 15, when the president re-enacts the famous Cry of Dolores and shouts “Viva Mexico y viva la independencia!” which translates to “May Mexico live on and may our independence live on!” Fun fact: Studies have shown that the more birthdays one has, the longer they will live… so Happy Birthday Mexico! Let’s have a beer!

Eddie Trejo, owner of Machete Beer House located in National City, Ca was gracious enough to take some time off his very busy schedule to share his excitement for this event with us. Doors are open from 3:00 pm to 2:00 am as any other day, with special festivities starting up at 6:00 pm Saturday September 16, 2007.

Machete Beer House will be showcasing beers from our brothers beyond the border including collaborations by Cerveceria Doble C from Ensenada with Pizza Port Brewing Co as well as a couple of new beers from a Tijuana brewing company in Silenus Cervesa Artesenal which has ties to our newest #sdbeer company: 3 Punk Ales in Chula Vista, Ca.

You can join the celebration by supporting your local Mexican-owned businesses and stopping by to taste the flavors of Mexico. Say hello to the team from us at SDPubCrawlers and the PubCrawlers Podcast and may YOU live on! Remember to celebrate responsibly.
